In the Seminar´s opening, Director Nelson Narciso stressed the importance of completing Round 10 as a means to consolidate the competitive model established under the so called Petroleum Law, reminding that when Santos basin´s acreage was first included in ANP´s bidding rounds, it was a “new frontier” area which needed intensive exploratory efforts the same way the new areas under offer in Round 10 require.
At the same time, a roundtable was set to further discuss and clarify specific topics concerning environmental issues. Representatves from national and states´ agencies were present. In relation to the basins´ technical aspects, ANP´s staff made detailed presentations pointing to geological aspects considered favourable to oil and gas discoveries in each one, as shown below.
Attention: the on line and electronic mail registrations will be accepted until 14/out/2008, 15:00. After that, registrations must be done at the Public Hearing site from 8:00 to 9:00.

The seminar's Tenth Técnico-Environmental aims to shed light on the environmental issue, and shall have the support of representatives from state agencies attending the seminar. In respect of technical themes of each basin included in the hand, the experts of the ANP detailed geological aspects considered favorable to the discovery of oil and natural gas.

Held on the 16th of October, the legal and fiscal seminar was open by ANP´s Director-General, Haroldo Lima, who stressed the stability and continuity of rules regarding the Rounds promoted in Brazil during the last 10 years.

Information concerning Round 10´s legal and fiscal aspects, including local content criteria and government take will be addressed at the LEGAL AND FISCAL SEMINAR to be held on October, 16th, 9:AM. ANP specialists will be present to clarify eventual doubts and discuss the subject matter.

Academic Workshops
Academic workshops were set up for Round 10, considering the need to improve universities´ awareness to the benefits – economic and social – derived from the bidding process. Also, the undertaking aims at improving the links between universities and the economic agents involved with oil and gas exploration and production.
Public universities close to the areas offered in this Round were chosen. The events are scheduled to begin at 10AM until midday with the following presentations:
» Institutional presentation and benefits to Society;
» Áreas under offer in Round 10;
» Computer systems developed for Round 10;
» Access to geophysical and geological data;
» Questions and Answers Session.

International Meetings
Special presentations will be made in November in four European countries displaying to the business communities the acreage under offer in Round 10 as well as the general guidelines of the auction process, under a more general program organized by the Brazilian Foreign Affairs Ministry.
Regional Meetings
Aimed at reinforcing the benefits arisen from the exploratory activities derived from R10´s concessions, these regional meetings promote local entrepreneurial´s awareness of possible services and goods supplies.
Besides the structured regional meetings, some less comprehensive talkings will occur whithin local business federations.
